On Tuesday, May 5, 2026 โ corresponding to 18 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH โ Algeria formally inaugurated its new Consulate General in San Francisco, United States of America. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, who was on an official working visit to the United States.
The inauguration was attended by the Consul General and representatives of Algerian community associations active within the San Francisco consular district โ marking a significant moment for the Algerian diaspora on the West Coast.
