Before your trip, set up Yassir for rides, BaridiMob or CIB Mobile for payments, and Ouedkniss for local shopping. Most apps work with an international phone number — check each listing for setup notes.
Most apps can be downloaded ahead of time, but some features (like payments or ride booking) only activate once you have an Algerian phone number or local bank account.
For ride-hailing and food delivery apps, yes — most require a local number for driver contact and account verification. Telecom apps like Mobilis, Djezzy, and Ooredoo can help you get a local number on arrival.
Availability varies. Most major apps support French and Arabic. Yassir and some others are adding English interfaces, but French is your safest bet for navigation.
Most apps accept Algerian Edahabia (CIB) cards and cash on delivery. BaridiMob and CIB Mobile are the go-to payment methods for in-app transactions.
